Free Websites – Start Small Think Big is offering free website development and domain hosting for small businesses that do not currently have a website. Businesses can fill out the Rapid Request Form and check the appropriate box to receive this assistance.
Employment Law Webinar – In response to your requests for more information about how small businesses should think about employment law compliance during this time and into recovery, we have a webinar this week. Q&A will be available.
Employment Law and Personnel Management: COVID-19 and Beyond

In light of COVID-19, many small business owners face new labor and employment regulations. The workshop will provide a general overview of labor and employment law, covering COVID-19 related concerns such as paid sick leave requirements, laying off workers, and rehiring workers.
The workshop will include discussions of the differences between independent contractors and employees; “exempt” and “nonexempt” employees under the wage and hour laws, developing and updating personnel
policies/manuals, avoiding discrimination claims when hiring and firing, workplace safety, and the importance of personnel record-keeping.

Spanish Request Form Going Live This Week: Your forms will be automatically updated to allow business owners to choose English or Spanish. Look for an email from me mid-week to let you know it is live!
Specific Requests – If you would like a webinar on a specific topic, a Start Small staff member to join a town hall or call with your community, a COVID-19 Rapid Response Program open house info session for your community, or a co-branded flyer for an event, please reach out. I am happy to assist.
